The Barry family name is synonymous with the Clare Valley wine region and the wine brand, Jim Barry Wines. Their deep ties to the local community continue to this day, hence it was a logical step to value add into luxury accommodation.
It was Jim Barry’s drive and community spirit that helped shape South Australia’s Clare Valley as a benchmark producer of world class Riesling and cemented its place as one of Australia’s premier wine regions.
The family’s passion for delivering quality provided the inspiration to procure The Mill Apartments in 2015, and later the Mill Street Retreat in 2021 as part of the Jim Barry Accommodation Group.
We, the Barry family, aim to create the best quality, self-hosted accommodation experience in the Clare Valley, offering a high standard of service for all our guests.
